This is hands down the best buffet I’ve been to in Texas. It was very busy, so there was a bit of a wait, and popular items like crab legs and oysters disappeared quickly—you really have to time it right to get them. That said, every single dish was absolutely delicious. Even though the place was packed, the servers were consistently friendly and attentive. The price is on the higher side, so I was a little worried at first about whether the food and service would live up to it—but there was absolutely nothing to worry about. Both the quality and service exceeded expectations. The staff at the serving stations were also incredibly kind, and honestly, everything I tried was amazing. It’s one of those places where you immediately understand why it’s so busy. ~ Shannon
Impressed with grand opening. Cleanest Chinese buffet in a while. Decent plate change speed. Bright environment and very spacious. Relatively broad choices, especially dessert. Competitive prices especially lunch. Long line until 2pm so you know it’s good. Only the second buffet in about a year that we’d recommend and would like to revisit. Good: Pork (dry rub ribs, crispy skin suckling pig, dim sum style pork ribs, char siu), snow crab legs, LA galbi, beef skewers only fresh off grill, steamed fish, salt pepper shrimp, shrimp cocktail, green beans, cherry tomatoes, chocolate fondue, ice cream, most fruit, sago soup西米露 Ok: garlic lobster, salt pepper beef, strawberries, odd red fruit Avoid: coconut shrimp, sushi ~ Jeff Z
We had seen this place on TikTok and were curious to try it. It's about 40 mins from where we live but it was worth the drive for the food. You have a very large variety of things to eat for all taste buds. If you want crab there is plenty of it, shrimp in all types of way, meats, soups, hibachi, rice noodles even pizza for some (I found it weird in an Asian place to have pizza). They have a full service area of desserts which honestly had some really tasty strawberries and pineapple. The all you can eat menu is $28 per person plus $3 for fountain drinks (unlimited). If you consider the amount of food and the endless seafood - it's a steal! The food felt fresh and very balanced in taste. Stations are constantly being monitored to make sure there is food. For sure it's a great place for large parties. ~ JJ S
Hello! I honestly don’t even know where to begin describing this place — it’s just awesome. The food is absolutely amazing. Every dish I tried was delicious, and everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. The place is very clean, the atmosphere is great, and the quality of the food really impressed me. I’ve tried all kinds of food here, and everything has been outstanding. I’ll definitely be coming back almost every week because I enjoy it so much. I’ve already been recommending this place to many people because it’s just that good. The seafood here is honestly the best seafood buffet I’ve ever had in my life, especially here in America. Seriously, it’s incredible. Thank you to everyone working here for your hard work and for making such a wonderful place for people to come and enjoy. Keep up the great work! 👏 ~ Kimo k
I had a fantastic time at Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon the variety here is seriously impressive. From fresh sushi and sashimi to flavorful Chinese classics and a great selection of seafood, there’s something for everyone. The dishes were well-prepared, tasty, and served hot, and I loved that there were even thoughtful touches like dim sum options and a dessert bar. The atmosphere is modern and comfortable, with friendly staff who make sure your visit feels welcoming. Whether you’re going with family, friends, or for a special occasion, this buffet delivers excellent value for the price and a fun dining experience overall. Highly recommended if you’re in Richardson and craving Asian flavors! ~ Adam A
I took a friend out to lunch for his birthday and we both were impressed. The variety of offerings was amazing and was super fresh and flavorful. The kung pao chicken had lots of sichuan peppercorn which is good but unusual. Most places are too light on the mala flavor and put big chunks of onion and bell pepper in. Real kung pao has chicken, hot pepper, sichuan pepper, scallions, and peanuts. The only peculiar thing was the chicken was breaded and kind of dry. There was no sauce with that Zhenjiang vinegar flavor that lends subtle sweetness that kung pao should have. I tried a number of other selections but I don't have space to describe them all. And I have to return since I only scratched the surface of their offerings. ~ Stephen G
Honestly I like this buffet! I’ve gone thereb3 times and i love it everytime! I do wish they make different flavor lobsters instead of same ginger scallion all the time. They have many options for everyone. One thing I have to point out, hopefully the manager sees this message and change. I’m very concern about the butter. It is in a crockpot, which kees it warm but the spoon uae should not be plastic!! The spoon is placed in that crockpot all day.. I can only imagine the amount of plastics seeping into the butter. That is why I do salt, pepper and lemon for my dipping sauce for my crab legs! Those are good though! Not salty at all and very juicy. Other than that… all is good!! 👍 ~ Lan L
Unlike other local buffet options such as king buffet or great wall Crouching Tiger really delivers alot of really unique chinese food options you cant fine in any other buffet in dallas. I thoroughly enjoyed having fresh grilled meat skewers, authentic dumplings bao, and snail.i did not even get the opportunity to try the wide array of sushi options or the made to order grill. Even the usual affair of fried rice and low mien were all above bar. I very much felt the $33 per person that the dinner [+drink] meal cost was reasonable. Expect a a good 20 min. wait during peak hours. Great place for larger groups. Will be back again to sample more food 😋 ~ Anil M
We are like half an hour drive from this place. Was a little relunctant to come to eat. But glad we did. This is one of the few affordable ayc places that actually taste good. My husband is picky and he thinks the food taste great. They have many options, and nice experience. The salmon sashimi is good. Other ayc for sashimi is usually not that great. Also can get cotton candy made on spot. Also can make your own ranmen. In oregon there is a very similar ayc open Hikari, but not as many options like this place. Both are still great though. There are some options might not suit your taste, but there is so much options you are bound to find something you like and can eat as much of it. ~ Lattencreme R
I liked it. And I was with a party of about 21 people this past Sunday. All of us pretty picky folks when it comes to food quality and value. I score the place 5 of 5. I didn’t hear one complaint from the group. It was fresh. Surprisingly, the dim sum BBQ bun fillings definitely was better than any other dim sum in DFW or in Taiwan, same goes with the braised chicken feet. Yea, it seems other restaurants like to use previous night’s meat for fillings and pretend customers don’t taste the difference. So kudos to this place. I also was surprised at the coconut shrimps, taste high end like in Chinese wedding banquets. Lobsters and crabs were very good too! Not sure why other reviews didn’t think so. Yea, too many other tasty foods to mention. I’m a big fan of Asian Buffet and King on 75. But if you like more seafood, lobster, crabs legs, oysters, its good value for the money. ~ Dave L
Incredibly impressive variety - even picky eaters can have some of the American staples like fries and pizza (and they're actually good, unlike most buffets). More adventurous diners will love the quality of more complex dishes, including some traditional and rare options. The seafood and sushi absolutely can't be missed - the sushi in particular is just as good as pretty much any local sushi restaurant. They just do good food and do it well. The atmosphere is incredibly modern, bright, and happy. The staff is attentive and couldn't possibly be any more kind. I mean this in the kindest way, but this restaurant is a SERIOUS threat to my New Year's resolutions! ~ Dan P
This is my second time here and the food has been awesome each time. The sashimi is fresh and the sushi rolls are too. There is a great mix of traditional Chinese dishes and more American style dishes so everyone in the family will find things they want to eat. The service was also top notch both times I've been. The ramen bar and the crab legs are really nice options that were available on this random Tuesday evening. Don't skip the dessert section where the star of the show is chocolate fountain! I have now happily driven over 45 min to come eat here twice and will definitely do it again soon! ~ Michael S
First time visiting Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in Richardson. We came specifically for items like the lobster with ginger & green onion, frog legs, and other seafood dishes; all were well prepared and flavorful The variety is impressive; plenty of seafood options along with sushi and sashimi to choose from. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. It’s also very good value for the price considering the selection and quality. A bonus is that they only serve durian on the weekends; otherwise I might have gone into a full food coma. The dessert cakes were delicious as well and a nice way to end the meal. ~ Andre S
Excellent buffet and selection. We came on Sunday for lunch, and we were seated right away. This buffet seems to make smaller batches of food compared to similar buffets we have been to. This leads to fresher food, but I can see how food could run out quicker than they can bring out new batches during very busy times. During our visit, we didn’t have any issues with food running out. They have a nice selection of sushi and rolls, and both the rice and fish were fresh. The oysters were good, but they could have done a better job with shucking them (there was sand/rocks in the oysters). It would have also been nice if they had Tabasco. We didn’t have the snow crab legs, but they appeared to be of decent quality. We loved the lobster and skewers they had, and their Szechuan dishes were delicious. The cheesecake was excellent as well. Overall, for a bit under $50 with tax and tip, we were very happy with our visit. ~ Elliot Y
Great fresh buffet with excellent service!! The decor was cool, modern with lines moving orderly and quick. Sushi was limited but good quality especially the spicy tuna. Chicken feet were perfectly cooked, went back for seconds. Squid rings & tentacles were prepared correctly, tender not gummy! Small clams in spicy red bean sauce was fantastic. Pig trotters & dry fried spiced intestine??? What buffet did u ever see that on??? Prep on both was great! Lots of fried stuff I tend to avoid, fried shrimp & catfish a touch rubbery, but that's how buffets go. If I lived here I'd come weekly, give it a shot you'll love it! Staff, u did awesome!!! ~ Lauriano D
One of the best buffets I've ever been to, hands down. I find that a key requirement of a good restaurant is a good atmosphere, and this buffet surpasses that requirement. The interior design is absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant is spacious as well, contributing to a comfortable yet classy atmosphere. The bathrooms are AMAZING. The buffet as a whole is extremely clean overall. Great variety. Ranging from sushi to oysters to marinated shrimp to udon to hibachi and more, the selections were extremely satisfying. Drinks included as well! The servers were friendly. The buffet also includes many stations not included in other buffets I've frequented. The buffet also strays from the norm in that its ice cream machine, instead of serving the standard vanilla and chocolate. Great variety, good dishes, great atmosphere, cool bathrooms, clean restaurant, awesome dessert, what more can I ask for? Definitely coming back here soon! ~ Daniel A
Came on a busy Saturday morning and we were immediately greeted, taken to our table, and was serviced right away. The staff here was very nice and attended to our dirty plates and drink refills quickly. For a buffet, I usually don't expect much and my expectations were low. However, I was genuinely impressed. They were constantly refilling the crab, crawfish and lobster dishes. They have dim sum, a hibachi station, and a noodle soup station along with your traditional hot foods and sushi. For dessert, they have your typical desserts plus cakes and cotton candy. No ice cream machine but they serve popsicles and cup ice cream you can grab at your own leisure. The restaurant itself is pretty big, I didn't feel like I was sitting too close to others compared to how I feel when I go to other buffets. I would recommend checking this place out if you're ever in the area and are in the mood for a good chinese buffet! ~ Christy N
This is honestly one of the best Chinese buffet in all of United States. Like when one says Chinese buffet, you have a common understanding but this buffet breaks the norm. It's very fancy, so many great options. It is also very Chinese. Like not American Chinese even though there are those options available but they also have very Chinese options like Mala Pig trotters. Which was amazing to see. And it is also very affordable. Service was great. The servers took great care of us. We were there with our baby and still had a very comfortable Lunch. ~ Aditya T
This is a pretty new buffet restaurant in Richardson Chinatown. The interior is huge and nicely decorated. There is a large variety of food options on the buffet, and in general the quality of the buffet items are higher than your typical Chinese buffet, and the taste more authentic as well. I went for lunch right when they opened so all items were stocked, although in general they did take longer to restock items that were out like the sushi. I can see that being frustrating if you come when it's busy. However, it wasn't a big problem at opening time. ~ Hungry E
My husband and I have been coming here a little over a month now! We absolutely love this buffet it’s so delicious, very clean, and their food is absolutely amazing, we’re astonished every visit, definitely recommend if you’re wanting to try something more authentic! Now I do recommend to be mindful of how much you serve yourself because as their napkin jars say, they do charge extra for food waste! As well as if you’re taking your time after you eat, if they see you are done eating or serving yourself they will ask you to leave because it does get packed and lines start to accumulate! ~ Erika W
Shut up, the people who wrote negative reviews! This is the best and most delicious buffet in the Dallas area, hands down! The only problem is it's too far from my house! Otherwise I'd go there for lunch every single day! Every day! Monday through Friday lunch is only 18 bucks! Now elsewhere for 18 bucks you'll get a box of barely enough fried rice to fill you up! I don't get what you're complaining about?! And those complaining about the service - this is a cheap buffet restaurant, if you want better service go to a five-star hotel and pay for it ~ Erwin R
I had a wonderful dining experience at Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon! This Asian buffet offers an impressive variety of food, including sushi, dim sum, Sichuan dishes, a cold dish bar, desserts, and even grilled skewers. Everything I tried was flavorful and well-prepared. What really stood out to me was not only the quality of the food but also the friendly and attentive service. The staff were welcoming and made sure everything was taken care of. The restaurant itself was very clean, organized, and comfortable, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!! ~ J C
Everything is amazing! My favorite things on the weekend buffet (FRI, SAT and SUN) are the easy to eat pre-cracked lobster, the fresh and beautifully placed sushi (rolls, nigiri, and sashimi), the wide range of single serve ice creams, giant chocolate fountain and my ultimate surprise was the made to order fresh spun cotton candy with today’s flavor being green apple! So yummy, definitely coming back soon❤️ I plate played the dice game and won a free meal for my group. I got two tries. The more people you bring, the more tries you get. Have fun y’all! ~ Christine B
Great new Chinese buffet with amazing food and high quality. This is my new favorite buffet and I can see myself coming back all the time with my family. The previous occupants of this restaurant was such a iconic staple in Richardson and now it's being replaced with this new Chinese buffet which we definitely don't have many good ones in Richardson, so this is much welcomed. So many great options. I loved all the seafood and meats. Also love the dimsum. The dessert area was great with cakes from Costco and 85C Bakery! Will definitely keep coming back!! ~ kimlovespigs21
